YOU CAN’T BLAME THE SUPPLIER: IF THERE WAS FRAUD, WHO APPROVED IT?

Kefiano Attack Exposes the Desperation Behind 2027 Political Propaganda — PDP

The latest attempt to drag the name of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Plateau State, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, popularly known as Kefiano, into recycled allegations over vehicles supplied to the previous administration has exposed what appears to be a desperate attempt to manufacture controversy ahead of the 2027 elections.
The State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Dr. Samaila Achigak A Rukuba, says those behind the allegations should stop hiding behind political propaganda and produce verifiable evidence if they truly believe a crime was committed.
The question, according to the PDP spokesman, is straightforward:
If the contract was awarded by government, the vehicles were supplied, received, inspected, accepted and paid for, why is the supplier suddenly being presented as the sole culprit?
Government contracts do not happen in darkness.
There are specifications. There are procurement procedures. There are inspection mechanisms. There are officials responsible for certification. There are approvals. And ultimately, there is payment.
Therefore, if the allegations of wrongdoing are genuine, the public deserves answers.
Who prepared or approved the specifications?
Who inspected the vehicles?
Who certified the delivery?
Who authorized acceptance?
Who approved payment?
These are the questions those making the allegations must answer before attempting to turn Kefiano into a political scapegoat.
The PDP says it is intellectually dishonest to suggest that a contractor unilaterally imposed vehicles on a government and somehow forced government officials to accept and pay for them.
If the allegations are true, then responsibility cannot stop at the supplier. It necessarily raises questions about the officials and institutions that participated in the procurement, inspection, acceptance and payment process.
2027 IS NOT A SEASON FOR POLITICAL DISTRACTION
The PDP says Plateau people are entering the 2027 political season with greater political awareness and will not be deceived by what it describes as recycled accusations designed to divert attention from the real issues confronting citizens.
According to the party, the 2027 election should be about security, jobs, economic opportunity, infrastructure, good governance and the future of Plateau, rather than personality attacks and unsubstantiated allegations.
The party challenged Kefiano's accusers to produce the contract documents, audit findings, inspection reports or petitions to relevant anti-corruption agencies upon which their claims are based.
If there is evidence, present it.
If there is none, stop manufacturing political noise.
The PDP further questioned the relevance of references to alleged celebrity associations and lifestyle, arguing that attending public events or associating with prominent personalities does not constitute proof of corruption.
For the PDP, the attempt to make such issues central to the 2027 debate only demonstrates the weakness of the case being presented against its candidate.
PLATEAU DESERVES ANSWERS, NOT PROPAGANDA
The party insists that Plateau voters are more interested in concrete solutions than political mudslinging.
They want to know who can secure their communities.
They want an economy that creates jobs and opportunities.
They want an administration that listens to ordinary citizens.
They want leadership that can transform the state's enormous human and economic potential into measurable prosperity.
That, the PDP says, is where the 2027 conversation must be directed.
Rather than obsessing over recycled allegations against Kefiano, the party challenged his political opponents to place their records, programmes and governing capacity before Plateau voters and allow the people to decide.
THE 2027 VERDICT WILL COME FROM THE PEOPLE
The PDP says the growing attacks against Kefiano will not distract the party from its campaign message or its engagement with the electorate.
According to the party, 2027 will not be won by propaganda, intimidation, character assassination or social-media theatrics. It will be decided by the people of Plateau State.
And those people, it says, are capable of distinguishing between evidence and allegations, accountability and propaganda, and genuine leadership and political desperation.
The message to those attacking Kefiano is therefore uncompromising:
Bring the evidence or withdraw the allegation.
Do not manufacture scandal where you cannot establish wrongdoing.
Do not confuse political noise with accountability.
And do not expect Plateau voters to surrender their future to propaganda.
2027 is about the future of Plateau State — and the people, not political propagandists, will have the final word.
E-Signed:
Dr. Samaila Achigak A Rukuba
State Publicity Secretary/PRO, PDP Plateau State.
