The Secretary of the Plateau Central Support Group for Caleb Mutfwang 2027, Godwin Bilewer, has commended the growing collaboration between Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, describing the development as a significant step towards putting the collective interest of Plateau State above partisan differences.
Bilewer said it must have taken considerable courage and political maturity for the two leaders, who have operated from different political camps, to set aside their differences and work together in the interest of the state.
He said the emerging cooperation should serve as a powerful lesson to political supporters, stressing that if the leaders can put Plateau first, their followers must equally abandon bitterness, division and political hostility for the greater good of the state.
He urged supporters across the political divide to embrace the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation, arguing that Plateau cannot achieve meaningful development when its people remain permanently divided along partisan lines.
Bilewer maintained that the political understanding between Mutfwang and the APC leadership presents an opportunity for Plateau to strengthen its relationship with the Federal Government and attract greater development to the state.
He therefore called on the people of Plateau to look beyond political differences and support initiatives that promote peace, stability, infrastructure, economic growth and improved livelihoods.
TINUBU–MUTFWANG: THE 2027 POLITICAL MISSION
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Bilewer declared that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang should be a major political objective for all those who genuinely desire continued development and stability in Plateau State.
He said the combination of President Tinubu's federal administration and Governor Mutfwang's leadership in Plateau provides an opportunity for the state to consolidate its relationship with the Federal Government and sustain ongoing development efforts.
According to him, the 2027 election should therefore be approached as a referendum on continuity, cooperation and development rather than another opportunity for political division.
Bilewer urged supporters of both leaders to take the message of unity to the grassroots, saying the political responsibility now lies with supporters to transform the emerging leadership cooperation into a broader movement across the 17 local government areas.
He said:
“If Governor Mutfwang and the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, can rise above political differences and put Plateau first, then their supporters must do the same. We cannot preach unity at the leadership level and continue to promote division at the grassroots.”
He called on youths, women, traditional leaders, professionals and other stakeholders to unite behind what he described as a common Plateau agenda, insisting that the state's collective interest must remain greater than individual political ambitions.
Bilewer concluded by urging Plateau citizens to reject politics of bitterness and embrace a new political culture anchored on cooperation, development and collective responsibility.
“Our message going into 2027 is simple: Plateau first. Let us unite, mobilise and work together for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang. This is not about personal interests; it is about the future and development of Plateau State.”
