Ex-Plateau Governor Jonah Jang is a symbol of minority struggle -Wadak

 

Chairman of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Jos District Society and former Permanent Secretary, Plateau State, Isaac Wadak has described former Governor of the state, Senator Jonah David Jang as a symbol of minority struggle in Nigeria.



Wadak in a statement while rejoicing with Jang as he marked his 77th birthday, said the elder's statesman has mentored younger persons who are impacting lives positively in the society.

"To many of us you stand out as symbol of minority struggle, custodian of our believes and a mentor on issues that bother on the growth of the future generation and women empowerment in Nigeria.

"The pursuit of this virtues has been grossly misunderstood by many and or some who just choose to be oblivious of them.

"But to few of us who understand, we will cherish these attributes for the rest of our lives and live it. Congratulations Sir on your 77th birthday and wish you many happy returns."

He expressed gratitude to God for the sound health and protection on Jang and said he will continue to uphold and stand with Jang in the minority struggle and his believe in the liberation of mankind.

FEDERAL POLY SHENDAM TO TAKE-OFF SOON- PERM SEC, FED. MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has assured that the Plateau State Government will do all that is
necessary to ensure the smooth take off of the newly approved Federal Polytechnic Shendam.

Governor Lalong stated this when he recieved the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Architect Sonny Echono who paid him a courtesy visit.

Lalong said the State was ready to participate in the take-off and growth of the Polytechnic by providing the needed support.

He again appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for giving approval for the Polytechnic and two other Universities in Plateau State, saying this is a demonstration of the Government's commitment to educating Nigerians.

Architect Sonny Echono in his remarks told the Governor that a technical team is already in the State to inspect the site for the Polytechnic which will kick start the take off of the school soon.

He assured that the Minister of Education Mallam  Adamu Adamu and his management team will ensure that all the newly approved institutions including Federal Polytechnic Shendam take off smoothly.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary who is also the President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects also led members of the body on a courtesy visit to Governor Lalong where he solicited for the support and collaboration of the Government towards addressing the challenges of building collapse in the country.

He said the Institute is also working on enforcing professionalism, training skilled workers in the construction industry and auditing public buildings across the country to enhance integrity.

Governor Lalong assured that Plateau State will support the Nigerian Institute of Architects in all its activities particularly in improving development of urban infrastructure and buildings.

AMANO Plateau state chapter gets new officials

Alumni of Maritime Academic of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO) Plateau state chapter has inaugurated its new officials.

The inauguration which took place via Zoom platform on Saturday 6th March, 2021 has the following persons as it new officials:-

3.                  Secretary General –                       Kan Andrew Badooh

The newly elected and inaugurated officials are to pilot the affairs of the Plateau state chapter Alumni of Maritime Academic of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO) for the next two years.

In his goodwill message the National President of AMANO Mr. Emmanuel Maiguwa congratulated the new officials and thanks them for taken the challenge to lead and assure them of the support of NEC.

He said following the successful conduct of the chapter election on the 24th February, which saw to emergent of the officials, it is important to note that, the election was free, fair, and transparent to the satisfaction of AMANO guidelines. By this, the NEC has accepted the exercise and gave way for the inauguration of the new executives to steer the affairs of the Jos chapter for the next two years. He added.

In his accustomed exceptional characteristics of identifying with people when they are celebrating, Diket Plang was at Ampang West on Saturday 6th 2021 to felicitate as well as rejoice with newly wedded couples.
