OPEN LETTER TO DR. NENTAWE YILWADA BY SHABUL MAZADU

OPEN LETTER TO DR. NENTAWE YILWADA
Your Excellency,
Having read your response to the Supreme Court's judgment, I felt constrained to express my candid views on the manner of player you were on the pitch of the political game.
Your conduct and comportment in the face of electioneering provocation and character assassination have proven your good intentions for the state, just like my amiable, erudite, patriotic and sagacious mentor, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum.
All through your electioneering campaign, no vulgar and pride nor bogus claims and vengeance were found on your lips. You always admonished your supporters to be law abiding peaceful and to conduct themselves with respect. You also cautioned them against rigging and bullying opponents.
If you had acted in hooliganism and encouraged so, Plateau State would have been on unquenchable flames. But your peaceful nature has truly and justly reflected the motto of your Alma Mata, Boys Secondary School Gindiri, "For Light and Truth."
Suffice me to also mention that the respect you accorded the judiciary after losing at the tribunal and Supreme Court, depicted your penchant for the rule of law. This has projected you as a true patroit and democrat.
Your conduct in the political field has impacted on the greatest population of the youth and presented Plateau at the national as having truly sensible young politicians, lovers of peace and unity, and genuinely progressive.
Plateau is truly blessed and fortunate of having the two erudite and sagacious doctors; Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum and Dr. Nentawe Yilwada.
You both are first timers in general elections contest and have changed the old cargoes narrative by subduing hooliganism, thuggery, bullying and threatenings amongst your supporters and foot soldiers. Plateau political annals will be very kind to you and the future lies with both of you.
I am optimistic that you both possess the vision and wherewithal of transforming Plateau, by uniting it and making it prosperous.
Be strong and of good courage. Despite losing, you are a victor in conduct and discipline.
God bless you.
Shabul Mazadu

THE LEGAL BATTLE IS OVER

The case has, finally, been decided. You and I voted and, also, prayed at each stage of the legal battle at the election tribunal, appeal and supreme court today. When a political matter gets to court for determination, it has graduated from the realm where political sagasity can be demonstrated to where legal prowess takes precedence. At the court, you will hear phrases like 'in the wisdom of this court' or 'from the point of law,...', etc.

The outcome of this case might be or might not have been what you wished or expected would happened but, because you sincerely prayed for the will of God to be done, accept this verdict as an act of God and wish the regime winner well. The time of politics is gone; it is time to put all hands on deck and, to build a secured, united and prosperous Plateau State together.

It was tough political tussle, really, but at last, governor Mutfwang's green revolution won. This means the state's responsibility has beckoned on him. His government is, therefore, wished well. To the main challenger, professor Nentawe Yilwatda and his blue revolution, I salute his doggedness.  The contender has clearly shown that when he believes in a cause, he fights for it to finish. That is the spirit and, he can be sure, there is always another day to try!

Politics is a learning curve. Democracy is a contest of ideas. The green cap and the blue cap have both been tested and determined in favour of the green manifesto. The people have spoken, the highest court in the land has stamped the will of the people but this is not the end of the matter. The most important thing is to make Plateau state work for the common good!

Let me conclude by a post I read earlier today: "If our HOPES doesn't touch the BLUE SKY, then, it will definately flourish on a GREEN LAND. No let politics turn your brethren into artificial enemies. PLATEAU FIRST!". This patriotic submission means alot to me and, I hope, it will for you too!

Oh, lord God almighty we thank you for the expression of your will over Plateau. May you superintend over the affairs of the state and grant her unity, peace and progress in everyway and always.

BP WATCH, A STITCH IN TIME

BP WATCH, A STITCH IN TIME
Have you checked your Blood Pressure (BP) lately? A stitch in time, they say, saves nine. The issues surrounding the Plateau State governorship election case which are about to decided at the supreme court in Abuja today are quite dicey. They can be likened to a penalty shoot out in a football match which can go either way. Therefore, do not risk your health over a matter that is outside your control. What is going to be, is going to be. Pray! (Modest Thoughts with Ayuba, Yilgak'ha, January 12, 2024)

PLATEAU LEADERSHIP IS AT A CROSS-ROAD

With the supreme court fixing tomorrow, Tuesday, January 12, 2024, for judgement on the Plateau State governorship election appeal, the seat of power in the state is at a crossroad. There is so much anxiety amongst the people of the state. So many pundits have made projections on what the outcome is likely to be  too but, at this point, only the verdict of the supreme court shall prevail. Our biases are, totally, handicapped at this moment. If you cannot pray, just shut up; your opinion and mine do not count or matter for anything. Oh Lord God almighty, the security, unity and prosperity of Plateau State and, that of Nigeria are in the hollow of your hands alone. Your will alone we crave, "Master of the Universe"! Do for us what your name alone shall be honoured and praised, in Jesus' name, amen.
With sincere prayers, the outcome shall be God's will for us and no one will have any cause to be worried at all. Say a prayer. Best wishes, Plateau!
