SEN. DARIYE'S CONDOLENCES TO SEN. DIKET PLANG & FAMILY

It is with a heavy heart, on behalf of my family, friends, associates and well-wishers, commiserate with the Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly, Senator Diket Plang, his entire family and Professor Monday Mangvwat over the irreparable loss of their dear wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, mother in law, sister and daughter, Professor Janet Plang which took place yesterday at Jos University Teaching Hospital.

Janet's death is not only a loss to her family, but to Plateau State and the entire country considering her remarkable direct and indirect contributions to the progress of the education sector at the University level and democracy in the country.

Suffice me to commend her for building a viable and virile home for her children and husband and leaving behind the legacies of sound motherhood and wifey.
She paid her dues in serving the nation through grooming countless students in the Universities of Jos, PLASU and Baze, through positively impacting great knowledge on them at all levels, and has been a role model in commitment to duties and disposition.
Her support for her husband in the pursuit of his political ambitions has greatly spurred him into achieving several feats, winning diverse elective positions, securing several political appointments and now representing Plateau Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

I call on the Plangs to see Janet's death as an act of God who gives and takes away life, and take comfort in her legacies and God who comforts us in times of sorrows.

May the Almighty God comfort and grant you the serenity and grace to bear the irreparable loss and may her soul rest in peace in the bossom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Signed:
Senator Joshua Dariye JP, MBA, MA(Law & Diplomacy) Ph.D

PROF. PATRICK DAKUM COMMISERATES WITH SEN. DIKET PLANG OVER THE DEMISE OF HIS WIFE

The Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, and Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health, School of Medicine Maryland University, Baltimore USA, Patrick Sunday Dakum, sends his heartfelt sympathy and empathy to the Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Diket Plang, over the death of his wife Professor Janet Plang, which ensued yester-night at the Jos University Teaching Hospital over protracted ailment.

Dakum called on the senator and his entire family to see her death as an act of God, as they did everything humanly possible to secure her healing but to no avail.
He commended Diket for standing by his wife and showing her all the love a husband should as he did everything possible to the extent of taking her overseas for treatment; saying her death takes a great toll on him, but he should take heart knowing that the Almighty God is with him and his family at this moment of great loss and grief.

According to him, to depart with love ones through death is uneasy, but we have a sure consolation that the death of a believer in Christ is rest, and also the good Lord has promised to be with us in our trying moments; adding that his strength is made perfect in our weakness, saying he will not leave or forsake us. In these he exhorted, the Plangs should take consolation in God, as he is fully in control to heal all wounds, mend broken hearts and comfort us.

Dakum beseeches the Plangs to also see Janet's departure from the world as rest having completed her God's given task, and to take consolation in the legacies of motherhood, wifey and lecturing she left behind, which greatly spurred their attainment to greatness in the pursuit of their lives' endeavours, and nation building.

He commended the deceased for bearing the torch 'For Light and Truth', the motto of her secondary school alma mata in all her undertakings, and for contributing hugely in the development and progress of the education sector through grooming so many students both at her station, University of Jos, Plateau State University Bokkos where she did her sabbatical leave and Baze University where she was lecturing on leave of absence.

Dakum further eulogized her for standing firm by her husband in fostering democracy in the state and the nation at large where he held many different elective positions and his rise to the senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly.
He praised Janet for grooming her children well, adding that she did everything possible to live an exemplary life to her family, students, the church and others who looked up to her.

The former Commissioner of Information and Health prayed the Almighty God to comfort and grant the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace.
