Arising
from its emergency congress meeting which was held on 31st August,
2024 at the school hall the BOSAT has achieved a landmark and historic
resolution after a thorough and meticulous deliberations.
The Chairman of the of Emergency Congress meeting Hon. Mohammmed Saliu Nyalum who presided over the process of the adoption of the amended constitution said following a painstaking and comprehensive deliberation, a new constitution has been adopted, noting that this is a landmark decision which marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the association.
Hon. Mohammmed Saliu Nyalum who is also the Plateau State Commissioner of Secondary Education said the amended constitution will provides a robust framework for BOSAT operations, ensuring greater transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, as it outlines clear guidelines for leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution, paving the way for a more cohesive and resilient organization.
He said ‘We are confident that this new constitution will propel BOSAT towards achieving its mission and vision, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and excellence.
Earlier in his welcoming addressed while appreciating the Grand Patron and other members the President of the Bukuru Old Student’s Association Technical (BOSAT) Bldr. Raphael Chinkik Rume commended the patriotic zeal, determination and commitment of members saying ‘despites their tight schedules they put aside all their businesses and other engagements and answered the clarion called to be part of this emergency congress meeting to deliberate on just two but very important agenda, first to consider and adopt the reviewed constitution which is long overdue, Secondly, to nominate electoral committee, that will conduct the next general election.
He said ‘it is just about four months BOSAT members gathered in the school and celebrated 70th anniversary, despite the economic hardship, insecurity; they still made it to this meeting. That their presence clearly demonstrate the love, passion and importance they attached to the gathering and devoted to BOSAT at large which is a source of inspiration to the Exco and indication that BOSAT family is growing day by day.
Bldr Raphael also commended the sacrifices and dedication Prof Zakka and his team for their steadfast commitments and fervent work towards the meticulous review of the BOSAT constitution.
In their goodwill messages the Grand Patron Sir Sir Edwin Gamde, the Principal Mrs. Patu Wambutda and Mr. Tanimu Gontur both of them appreciate the tireless efforts of the EXCOs, members and stakeholders in shaping this new constitution and look forward to its successful implementation.
After the adoption of the Constitution the congress deems it fit and necessary to extend the tenure of the Exco till November, next year when election shall be conducted to elect new officials.
