HON. AMB. DANIEL ASAMA AGO ATTENDS ISHOKORI ANAGUTA CULTURAL FESTIVAL, URGES UNITY AND PROGRESS"

The Member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama Ago, on Saturday attended the 2025 edition of the Ishokori Anaguta Cultural Festival held in Jos, Plateau State.
 
In his goodwill message, Hon. Asama Ago highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between the Anaguta and Bace (Rukuba) peoples, emphasizing that both communities have long shared a common ancestry and identity. He described the festival not just as an Anaguta event, but as a celebration of collective heritage, strength, and resilience.
 
“As a representative of the great people of Bassa and Jos North, I recognize that our unity and cultural heritage are our greatest strengths,” he said. “The Ishokori Festival is a reminder of our shared values, our spirit of coexistence, and the bond that holds us together.”
 
The lawmaker commended the Anaguta people for organizing a successful cultural celebration and used the platform to advocate for continued peace, unity, and dialogue among all ethnic groups in the region. He also reassured constituents of his commitment to enhancing security efforts in collaboration with the Plateau State Governor and other relevant authorities.
 
Speaking on recent security challenges faced by the constituency, Hon. Asama Ago expressed deep sympathy with affected communities and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in attacks. He assured them that their plight has not gone unnoticed, revealing that he has tabled motions at the Green Chamber addressing the situation and seeking urgent intervention.
 
He noted that, with the support of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, financial relief was provided to victims of the attacks. He pledged to continue working closely with the Chairmen of Bassa and Jos North Local Government Areas to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of the constituency.
 
Hon. Asama Ago also extended his colleagues’ felicitations to the Anaguta people and demonstrated his support by making a generous donation toward the success of the festival.
 
He concluded by congratulating the Anaguta community for preserving their cultural heritage and commended His Royal Majesty, the Ujah of Anaguta, Pozoh Johnson Magaji PhD, JP, for his unwavering leadership in promoting peace, cultural pride, and hospitality.
