Hon. Asama's 4 Bills Passes Second Reading

Hon. AMB. Daniel Asama Ago, the Representative of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, has made significant strides in his legislative endeavors. These bills aim to alter key provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, focusing on:

- Defining and Criminalizing Torture and Inhuman Treatment* (HB. 1194): Strengthening Nigeria's Human Rights framework by clearly defining and criminalizing acts of torture and inhuman treatment.
- Strengthening Human Rights Treaty Applications* (HB. 1197): Ensuring that Human Rights Treaties ratified by Nigeria are properly integrated into domestic law.
- Free, Compulsory, and Universal Basic Education as a Fundamental Right* (HB. 1616 & 1206): Enshrining free and compulsory basic education as a fundamental human right, ensuring access to quality education for all Nigerian children.
- Citizenship Rights and Inclusion of Youths & Women in Leadership* (HB. 1195 & 1422): Addressing gender inequalities in Nigerian citizenship laws and promoting increased inclusion of women and youths in leadership positions.
