ADC ADOPTION A TURNING POINT-CHENDAN

The 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau State, Hon. Solomon Nandy Chendan, has described the adoption of the party by a national coalition of political leaders as a welcome development and a turning point in Nigeria's political landscape.

He said democrats across Plateau State should join the emerging trend of,  “Arise and shine," as a credible alternative for good governance.

Hon. Solomon Nandy Chendan, who is the leader of the party in the state, was reacting to the announcement made on Wednesday by the coalition group, which endorsed ADC as its platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the party now stands as the most viable option for Nigerians of conscience and vision.

“We wholeheartedly welcome this development. We expect more members to join so we can build the new Nigeria we all desire. We believe ADC is poised to bring about national rebirth, and establish her presence with the  rescue mission in Plateau state under the party chairmanship of Ambassador Hannatu Gagara” Chendan stated.

He expressed optimism that with the involvement of the coalition and the emergence of new national leaders, ADC has now positioned itself as a major opposition party and a formidable force ahead of the 2027 elections.

Chendan called on the people of Plateau State to embrace the party, noting that ADC represents a developmental ideology capable of propelling progress across all sectors with the very focus of security at all level.

“Our party is open and ready to welcome new members. Together, we can bring about the change this nation urgently needs,” he said.

He added that ADC, with its slogan "Arise and shine", remains the only political party that truly encapsulates the aspirations of the Nigerian people.

It will be recalled that a coalition of political leaders on Wednesday adopted the ADC as their platform for the 2027 general elections.

The coalition appointed former Senate President David Mark as interim chairman, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as secretary, and former Minister of Youth and Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, as publicity secretary.

Among other notable figures in the coalition are Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, his running mate Datti Baba-Ahmed, former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami.
