PLASU TO COMMENCE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE & SURGERY

All is now set to kick start College of Medicine  at the Plateau State University BOKKOS this November  following an MoU with the University of Freiburg Germany and Plateau State Government.
The collaboration is an effort from the Plateau State Government which is  geared towards revamping the health sector that will benefit  the state University  and the citizenry. 

Acting Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos Professor Shedrack Best while receiving the German delegation in his office,  expressed delight over the effort by the Governor and assured of his unflinching collaboration in ensuring the efforts came to fruition.
 Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration,  Associate Professor Keziah Yiltohom Ayuba, Professor  Shedrack Best acknowledged how beneficial the partnership will be, to the University.

This partnership is going to place the institution in the map of high ranking University in the global space."

The Acting Vice Chancellor took time to lead the partners to the proposed temporary site where the program is expected to commence, which is at the Faculty of Health Sciences,other places visited were the university's Health Centre. 

Representative of the University of  Freiburg Germany,  Associate Professor Peter Asaga Mark after touring some of the facilities,  expressed satisfaction with the available physical infrastructures,stating that, " we noticed that Plateau State University is actually ready to start, looking at the lecture rooms are commendable. We are going to supply the state of art equipment for this noble course." .

Associate Professor Asaga appaluded the commitment of Governor Mutfwang in revamping the health sector in Plateau State. He said they are in Plateau State following the partnership with the state government to accomplished three mission.  
" we are in Plateau State following the partnership with the state government to accomplished three mission.  First is to set up Emergency Medical Rescue System and build 1500 bed space hospitals in Shendam, Mangu and Jos.  Secondly,  we are to provide ambulances that will be manufactured here by Mercedes Benz to cut down cost of importation.  Finally,  setting up of an International Institute of Medicine and Infectious Disease and College of Medicine which Plateau State University became a beneficiary. "
