The _'Trust Tinubu Again' Support Group, TRUSTA_, has condemned recent remarks by Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, describing them as a total misrepresentation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s intention behind the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, August 14, 2026 and signed by its National Coordinator, Hon. Stephen Bond, the group said the President and Vice President were elected by Nigerians across faiths, regions, and ethnicities based on competence, experience and expediency.
“Three years into the Renewed Hope Agenda, the focus of this administration has been policies, not piety tests. It is delivering infrastructure, economic reform, security, and jobs, engendering prosperity and securing posterity,” the statement read.
TRUSTA described as irresponsible, unpatriotic and unethical, any attempt to weaponize religion and dichotomize Nigerians along faith lines.
The group noted that such rhetoric undermines national unity at a time when collective effort is needed to tackle insecurity and economic challenges.
It therefore urged all religious and political leaders to desist from divisive narratives and support policies that benefit every Nigerian, irrespective of faith or region.
