KANAM LGC CHAIRMAN EXPRESSES SADNESS OVER THE DEATH OF TWO PERSONS IN FIRE INCIDENT IN GWANGSUM VILLAGE

Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council,Dayyabu Yusuf Garga has expressed sadness over a fire incident that engulfed a house in Gwangsum village of the area leading to the death of two little children.

On a condolence visit to the family affected as well as people of the village the Executive Chairman,Dayyabu Garga said his attention was brought to the unfortunate incident as such it was necessary to come and sympathize with them and have first hand information on the incident.

Represented by the Supervisory Councilor for Social Service Bala Mohammed Zalli,Garga said the primary aim of government is the security and welfare of its citizens as such this is a trying moment for them urging them to surrender everything to God as he allowed it to happen for a purpose.

He commiserated with the parents of the deceased children and prayed for the  repose of their souls.

Responding,father of the two deceased children Adamu Abubakar filled with emotions narrated the sad ordeal saying the children where sleeping inside the hut while they were away grazing when he was called back home and he met the ugly sight of what happened.

He said they suspected one of the children mistakenly lit a match for whatever reason and since there were grasses within it caught fire as a match box was seen among the burnt items.

He said they have accepted the incident as the will of God who has allowed it to happen saying the Local Authority should come to their aid as they have lost virtually everything.

Village head of Gwangsum village of Kanam Local Government Area,James Maigida said the community is saddened by the death of two little children in the area calling on the people to be more vigilant and always ensure in this moment of dry season everything that has the capacity to cause fire is kept properly and monitored so as to avert some of these kinds of unfortunate incidences.

At the time of the visit,the two deceased children had been buried already.
