PANKSHIN-LANKAN ROAD NOW INACCESSIBLE AS RAIN WASHES IT AWAY. 27-6-2022The Mupun Cultural And Development Association,MUCDA has cried out to the Plateau State Government to quickly intervene as the only road accessed by the people from Pankshin through Lankan and other Mupun villages has been washed away making the road inaccessible.MUCDA National President,Pedro Ardiyel Dafur made the plea after accessing level of damage done to the road as a result of the torrential rainfall which occurred on friday twenty fourthJune 2022.He said the level of damage done to the road is one that only Government can handle as the communities for sometime have tried to make the road motorable by fixing damaged parts of the road as they get affected.The MUCDA President said with the damage done to the road,over fifteen villages will not be able to access Pankshin town,headquarters of the LG until they go through Panyam while those within the hinterlands of the Lankan axis are stocked in the village because of the nature of the damage to the road.According to him,the people are bearing the brunts of the devastating damage done to the only road being managed in the area as movement of farm inputs have become near impossible as people have to walk long distances with them in other to access farms as well as their destinations.Pedro Dafur therefore called on Government to come to the aid of the Mupun Nation so as to return the road to a manageable state for accessibility.KENZY NGUPARNATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARYMUCDA
