NULGE expresses dismay over the resurgence of killings and destruction of properties in the state
Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) is deeply saddened and condemns the unfortunate killing of innocent lives and property of Plateau citizens carried out by the enemies of progress.
President of the Plateau State Chapter of the Union Yohanna Arondong Makwin in statement commiserates with the Government and people of Plateau State over the dastardly act and admonishes citizens to shun the divisive antics being employed by conflict Merchants to set them apart.
Makwin notes with dismay the resurgence of senseless killings and destruction of property and mowing down of farm crops after all efforts and measures at the sustenance and consolidation of peace efforts attributed the recent mayhem to the desperate action of criminally-minded detractors, appealed for calm.
The Union leader pointed out, though it is very painful the untimely loss of the lives of loved ones and property, sued for the adoption of restraint and decorum in order not to yield to the wish of perpetrators whose wish is for an escalation of the situation through reprisal.
Makwin calls on citizens to support and cooperate with the Government and security agencies as they strive to contain the situation and unravel the identities of those responsible to bring them to justice.
He tasks citizens to be vigilant and volunteer credible information that will lead to forestall further occurrences.
The statement also calls on teeming members of the NULGE especially those who might have been victims of these dastardly acts to take solace and allow vengeance to God.
The statement similarly tasks Union members working in Bassa, Jos North, and South to comply
With the curfew being imposed and be wary of their safety.
