PLASU Acknowledges Govt Support for Indigenous Students

Plateau State University, Bokkos, through its Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shedrack Gaya Best, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the Plateau State Government for its ongoing provision of palliative support to indigenous students, aimed at alleviating the impact of subsidy removal.

In a demonstration of gratitude, the Acting Vice Chancellor, represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Associate Professor Jurji Nengak Gomos, lauded the Visitor to University and Governor of the State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his benevolence in extending this vital assistance to students who form a vulnerable demographic group.

Professor Best emphasized the significant impact of this gesture in alleviating the financial challenges faced by students, urging them to utilize the support judiciously.

During the visit of the staff of the Plateau State Scholarship Management Board, led by its Acting Secretary Nankus Ngwalang Adams, the Acting Secretary highlighted that the distribution had been temporarily postponed due to technical reasons and reaffirmed the board's unwavering commitment to ensuring an inclusive and seamless exercise.

Expressing their gratitude, beneficiaries of the palliative, including Dapan Victory Livinus, a 400-level student of the Chemistry Department, and Dalyop Joyce Yohana, a 300-level student from the Accounting Department, conveyed their appreciation to the Plateau State Government for the support, pledging to utilize it responsibly.

Plateau State University recognizes and commends the Plateau State Government's dedication to the welfare of indigenous students and remains committed to fostering an environment where all students can thrive academically and personally.
