Ibrahim Mantu’s demise regrettable, sad loss to the Plateau and Nigeria at this time- Pauline Tallen

Honourable Minister of Women Affair’s

It i saddening and greatly regrettable for me to receive the news of the demise of Ibrahim Mantu, Nigeria’s former Deputy Senate President.  The death which occurred early this morning comes at a time the home State of Ibrahim, the Plateau is at a cross road and would require the wise counsel of the elder Statesman to navigate this troubling times.

Ibrahim Mantu, born 16th February, 1947, was elected to represent Plateau Central in 1999 and became the Deputy President of the Senate in August, 2001.

As a Plateau Senator and Deputy President of the Senate, Ibrahim, I must say had so much to say for him that Nigerians can join me to applaud him and to lament his passing.

As the remains of Ibrahim Mantu will be laid to rest later today in Abuja, I join many of his admirers across our nation to pray for his soul to rest in perfect peace.
