POBA TAKES DELIVERY OF SOME LABORATORY MATERIALS

The efforts of the new Pankshin Old Boys Association's leadership in regards to the four burnt laboratories in Government College Pankshin is beginning to yield positive reports.

This has come to light with the latest donation of Biology and Chemistry Laboratory materials by a philanthropist to the exco.

Receiving the materials comprising  one Life Size Skeleton, sixteen pieces of table size skeletons and thirty one boxes of Laboratory Glass Wares,POBA President Kenzy Ngupar saluted the donor and charged other spirited individuals to join in the fray to cover up for the four burnt laboratories at Government College Pankshin.

He said POBA had to cry out because the school's Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Agricultural Laboraties were completely burnt down recently and posing a threat to students who would need those labs for their upcoming examinations.

Kenzy thanked the Plateau State Government for taking the challenge of Government College Pankshin's burnt laboratories with all vigour assuring that it will continue to support all activities of Government.

Earlier the anonymous donor of the laboratory materials praised the current leadership of POBA for its record within the shortest time so far saying its engagement with relevant stakeholders spurred him to respond to the plea.

It will be recalled that recently four laboratories,Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Agric Labs were engulfed by fire destroying everything and the building.

THE NGAS NATION APPEALS FOR CAUTION

On behalf of the Ngas nation, we express our pains and deep concern about the unfortunate recurrent situation in Plateau State and most recently in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA). We pray to Almighty God for His divine intervention to give succour, peace, and healing to the people of Mangu LGA and Plateau State in general.

The Ngas nation sees these recurrent security challenges as a bane in the wheel of progress for us as a people in Plateau State. We are calling on all sons and daughters of our dear State to embrace oneness, eschew bitterness, demonstrate responsibility, and give our maximum support to the leadership of His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang in these challenging times.

The Ngas and Mwaghavul ethnic communities have a long-standing history of togetherness, shared language, culture, and fraternal ties. Hence, the MDA and NDA, have always worked closely. It is common knowledge that when Mwaghavul and Ngas sons emerged as the candidates of the two leading parties, MDA and NDA leaderships met before the elections to ensure acrimony-free polls. Again, after the elections, the Presidents of MDA and NDA  met twice in 2023 to keep the peace between both ethnic communities. In the wake of the attacks from armed marauders, the Ngas people stood firmly with the Mwaghavul people.

In light of this good relationship, we are writing to express our deep concern and disappointment regarding a portion of the recent press statement issued by the office of MDA's National Director of Publicity in which he mentioned one *Bala Umaru Kafil* , who provocatively celebrated the outbreak of violence and bloodshed in Mangu, on the social media platform named "Dr. Nentawe Die Heart Support Group". We find singling out this particular mention worrisome since Bala Umaru Kafil made the same post on his handle as well as several other social media platforms. This act ought to be the craft of mischief makers who would stop at nothing to undermine the peace and cordiality existing between us as a people. Therefore, the entire Ngas Nation frowns at the motive of this particular mention and considers it very unfair, unbrotherly, and unchristian.

However, as partners committed to the promotion of peace and harmonious relationships between our two communities and Plateau at large, we advise the MDA to seek other meaningful ways of bringing the likes of Bala Umaru Kafil to book. One such way is reporting his post to the relevant security outfit since this person has his contact information displayed on his profile. This will serve as a deterrent to other mischief makers.

It is crucial to rise above political misrepresentations and uphold our spirit of friendship and fraternity. We believe this misrepresentation does not reflect the true intentions and spirit of the MDA that we have known all these years. Therefore, we are raising these concerns through this medium because the press release is in the public domain and we consider that the public should not be misled any further by such ill-intentioned perceptions, especially from a respected body such as the MDA.

Finally, we are dedicated as people to reinforcing our commitment to peace, unity, and progress for the Ngas, Mwaghavul, and all communities on the Plateau.
