PROF.DAKAS CJ DAKAS INTERACTS WITH MORE DELEGATES AMIDST ACCOLADES.
This he did by engaging members of the Forum of Former Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly who are members of the APC.
The interaction which took place at the secretariat of the forum in Jos had the delegates applauding the guest on the various plans he has for the state.
Professor Dakas in company of some members of his team told the delegates his preparedness to govern plateau if given the chance as he believes he is well prepared and with the requisite knowledge of the various issues as a result of the multiple diversity of plateau state.
He told the former lawmakers that it had become necessary to meet with them because of their vast experience having a combination of Lawmakers from the first republic to the last dispensation which has placed them in a vantage position to interact towards additionally preparing him for the task ahead.
He said they are a very important block that any well meaning person desirous of leading the state should align with because they have the deep knowledge of the core issues that will propel people like himself to deliver effective service to the people.
He told the delegates he is running for the governorship of plateau state because he is well prepared and has his desire hinged on SERVICE,IMPACT AND LEGACY adding that he will live to leave those on the sands of time as God leads him.
Professor Dakas CJ Dakas underscored his relationship which spans over a period with most of the delegates and recounted some memorable experiences they all shared during their various tenures as members of the state assembly while he was the either with tge executive or at the academia and said he sees them as friends who he has worked with and not necessarily because he is seeking to govern the state.
He told members of the forum "In the course of life there are friends who are your friends because of the office you occupy and there are those who are your friends from time immemorial.You all are friends from time past as such I will relate with you all as my friends in life and not because of the office I seek to occupy"
Responding to several questions raised by members of the forum on some critical areas such as security,education,economy among others Professor Dakas said he had already been working on a template that will be all inclusive in addressing the numerous challenges being faced at the moment and drew applause from members of the forum present.
According to the governorship hopeful "I am never someone to seek public office for the sake of it.I am never someone to seek public office for the lure of power,no.If I seek any public office,it is driven solely by the common good of our people"
To the forum he further said,"If you find me worthy to be the flag bearer of our great party,we will do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed in us"
He commended the Governor Simon Lalong and his cabinet over their efforts in what he termed "some very difficult moments" and called for more prayers for him to succeed.
Dakas promised to as a constitutional Lawyer uphold strongly section 14 sub section 2b of the constitution which says "The security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government and assured he will by the grace of God wake up every single morning with the security and welfare of the people of plateau state at heart.
Also speaking a member of the Dakas team,Hon Dauda Lamba told members of the forum why Professor Dakas posseses the best qualities to receive their support because among others he is cosmopolitan but with a vast knowledge of the needs,yearnings and aspirations of the rural communities.He is very simple but firm in taking decisions that affect plateau,intelligent but ever willing to listen to other views.
Dauda Lamba added that Professor Dakas is is humble and very compassionate and with capacity to recreate plateau as he has the ability and capacity to think above board among so many other qualities.
Chairman of the forum of former members of the Plateau State House of Assembly,Banahel Andong thanked the governorship aspirant for coming to bare his mind and affording them the privilege of hearing some of the laudable plans he has for the state if elected.
They encouraged him to continue in his humility and commitment which are some of his sterling qualities.
The interactive session with the former members refreshed the friendship that existed between them as it continued individually and collectively at some points and climaxed with a group photograph.
