The governorship is not a retirement package; aspirants must give an account of their selfless service to the people-Kefas Ropshik

As political activities towards 2023 general elections gather momentum concerned citizens who desire that worthy leaders who are having the capacity to govern are elected into offices, one of such persons is a young vibrant business tycoon and philanthropist Mr. Kefas Wungak Robshik popularly called Kefiano. He said, leadership in the Plateau is treated as a retirement package and this has led to a leadership crisis in the state. Kefas Ropshik stated these while in an
interactive session with members of the Independent Publishers’ Association
(IPA) in his Jos residence, he re-emphasized that, the state is endowed with
sufficient natural and human resources, but sadly it has been left in hands of
those who do not have the capacity or interest to harnessed it well to the
benefit all thus; leading to over-dependence on Federation allocation.
He
lamented that because leadership positions in the state have been treated as a
retirement package, innovative ideas are not brought on board other than salary
payments, despite the huge human potentials and solid mineral resources in the
state.”
Kefas
urged the People of Plateau State most especially the younger general to demand
accountability from those seeking political offices, they should ask them what
have they done for the people of the state in their capacity, while they were
occupying other offices or endeavors.
Kefas
Ropshik said he believed those who have excelled in the private sector can turn
the state’s fortune around. Saying that 21st-century world is administered
through the Private Sector initiative and the future belongs to them”.
Mr.
Kefas Wungak Robshik hails from Garam District in Kanke local government Area
of Plateau State, but grew up in Shendam and later moved to Benue state, his
father was a Police officer, a Pastor, and disciple of Paul Gindiri.
He
said his philanthropic nature came from his parental humble background, and
upbringing, ‘I am always moved when I see people suffering, and having passed
through that situation myself, I am always moved to toward assisting them”.
